Significant weather advisory for Palm Beach County

The National Weather Service has issued a significant weather advisory for inland and coastal Palm Beach County as a strong line of thunderstorms moves east from Wellington.

Concerns with these storms include frequent to excessive lightning, winds gusting to 55 mph and small hail as upper atmosphere temperatures have cooled to a frigid 17 degrees.

Some flights have been delayed at Palm Beach International Airport because of lightning threats in the area. Check your departing flight status here.

The advisory is in effect until 1 p.m.

Areas affected include West Palm Beach, Boynton Beacy, Delray Beach, Wellington, Greenacres, Royal Palm Beach, Loxahatchee, Atlantis and Century Village.
