Update 3:07 p.m.: Thunderstorms are moving over downtown West Palm Beach, and the National Weather Service has issued a special marine warning for coastal waters from Jupiter Inlet to Palm Beach.
The alerts warns of wind gusts upward of 40 mph. Areas impacted include Juno Beach, North Palm Beach, Palm Beach Shores, Riviera Beach, Jupiter and Palm Beach.
The National Weather Service has issued a significant weather advisory for portions of northeast and inland Palm Beach County warning of frequent to excessive lightning, small hail and gusty winds.
The advisory is in effect until 3 p.m.
According to the alert, a line of strong thunderstorms near Canal Point is moving northeast at 15 mph. The system could also bring torrential rain.
