Watch: Weather worth calling in sick for

With the 80-plus temps Saturday and Sunday will come the possibility of showers and a slight chance of thunderstorms.

Rain chances pick up at 1 p.m. Saturday and are their highest – 30 percent – Sunday beginning at about 1 p.m.

A low pressure system pushing east across the U.S. is going to send some turbulent air through Florida late Saturday into Sunday.

The system’s approach means winds will pick up Saturday with southeast sustained winds of up to 15 mph and and gusts to 20 mph. On Sunday, sustained winds should dip to 6 to 13 mph.

Forecasters may increase rip current risks depending on the wind, but with light southeast breezes today, National Weather Service meteorologists are expecting low rip current concerns. Ocean temperatures are hovering about 74 degrees.
