Astronomical winter ends on the spring equinox, which this year is March 20 – the day when the sun’s rays shine directly on the equator.

But wait.

There may be one more cool front on the horizon. Whether it’s a winter-worthy front is another question.

According to the National Weather Service in Miami, it’s expected to be fairly whimpy.

“Another weak frontal boundary will limp its way through the peninsula late in the week,” meteorologists wrote in their morning discussion.
