ORIGINAL STORY:

The National Hurricane Center is giving a disturbance 1,000 miles southeast of the Windward Islands a 40 percent chance of development over the next five days.

The area of disorganized showers is near dry air, but some slow development is possible in the next week.

If it were to muster tropical storm status, it would be named Don.

A hurricane hunter aircraft is scheduled to investigate the area Monday if necessary. It has been designated Invest 95L, which is not an indication of likely formation but allows the NHC to gather more data on it.
