Watch for SpaceX rocket launch Thursday

SpaceX is scheduled to send a mystery satellite into space Thursday from Kennedy Space Center – a launch that could be visible from South Florida.

The two-hour launch window for the so-called Zuma mission opens at 8 p.m.

An advisory from SpaceX said there is a possibility that residents living on the Space Coast may hear a sonic boom during a landing attempt of the Falcon 9’s first stage rocket at Cape Canaveral Air Force Station.

A sonic boom happens when a vehicle travels faster than the speed of sound.

According to Space.com, Zuma is a U.S. government mission.
